Energy Storage Research


The Built Environment Research Institute at the University of Ulster is at the forefront of delivering research that addresses the changing needs of society in a more sustainable manner. Through activities in areas such as renewable energy, sustainable energy systems, hydrogen technologies and strategic spatial planning the Research Institute is addressing questions which are central to the global, national regional and local economy. The Built Environment Research Institute and its constituent research Centres in Sustainable Technologies, Property and Planning and Hydrogen Safety has recently been awarded substantial funding for research into energy storage from the Department for Employment and Learning under its Cross Border R&D Funding Programme.The research will be undertaken in partnership with the Dublin Institute of Technology, University College Dublin and NUIMaynooth.

The postholder will carry out research into the understanding of building dynamic response as a mechanism for engaging with energy storage. Applicants must provide evidence of having undertaken research involving modelling energy use in buildings.
